Certificates of Occupancy are required before any permitted construction is to be used or occupied. Very rarely, however, it may be necessary to issue a Temporary Certificate of Occuapncy prior to completion. In such instances, no safety measure or stormwater issue shall be left undone.
A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy requires an additional inspection that is not covered by the initial permit, therefore, a fee of $100.00 must accompany a Signed Agreement, which must state the extenuating circumstances that necessitate a Temporary C.O. Temporary Certificates of Occupancy are not issued for poor planning; be sure when you begin a project you are able to complete it in the allotted time and plan ahead for bad weather and extra expenses.
